Community Education Foundation Welcomes New Executive Director
Julie Payne has joined the Community Education Foundation
as the organization's second executive director in the organization's 17-year history. Julie brings to the Foundation a wealth of experience in non-profit youth service, program management, volunteer coordination and educational outreach to the Foundation. Most recently she served as the director of program and membership services at the Nishnabotna Girl Scout Council in Council Bluffs.
She will work closely with staff members, the volunteer Board of Directors, alumni and members of the community in partnership with the school district to enhance educational opportunities for children and families in Council Bluffs.
Julie is looking forward to continuing her work on behalf of children and to sharing the story of the Foundation with community groups, businesses and individuals.
Farewell to Longstanding Executive Director
The Board of Directors and community wished longtime Executive
Director Kathy Sorrell a fond farewell on August 24th. She has taken a new
position in Nebraska. Kathy will be remembered for her tremendous contributions
to the quality of childcare, the care and concern for children and for her leadership
in growing the Foundation to meet the needs of the Council Bluffs Schools.
