Community Education Foundation: Donations to
the Community Education Foundation Gold Star fund
are used to continue service to the youth of Council
Bluffs and the Council Bluffs Community School
District.
If you prefer, you can direct your donation to any of our specific programs:
Kids and Company: Would you like to contribute to our before and
after school childcare program? Funds could be
used for activities or even field trips.
Council Bluffs Alumni Association: Donations to the CB Alumni are
appreciated to help continue funding the upkeep of the
web site, as well as other activities such as the Annual
TJ vs. AL Tailgate Party.
Classroom Grants for Teachers:These grants offer teachers the
opportunity to implement creative and innovative
projects that enhance the classroom curriculum,
especially in the areas of math and literacy. Your gift

for use by teachers and other school personnel.
Classroom grant are awarded in the amount of $250
or $500.
Teacher and Staff Appreciation: Every month the Community
Education Foundation and the Council Bluffs School
District recognizes a teacher and a support staff for
their outstanding contribution to the Council Bluffs
Schools, and for excellence in the class room or other
area of expertice.
(please contact Diane Ostrowski at 712-322-6514 for
information on nominating a teacher or staff person)
Funds may also help to pay for the Welcome
Back Kick Off event for teachers and staff at the
beginning of the school year.
Scholarships: There are any number of high school scholarships
available for students at both Abraham Lincoln and
Thomas Jefferson. If you are interested in
donating to a particular scholarship, please contact
Brenda at 712-322-8800 ext.12
Gear Up Students: At a time when unemployment is rising and many
families are in economic crisis, this program can make
a positive difference in the life of a child by providing
school supplies, warm clothing, clothing that fits,
medication, and help meet other school requirements.
The principals of the individual schools, who know their
children and their needs, make the request for funds
from the Community Education Foundation.
Memorials & Scholarships: One way to honor teachers and friends is
through the support of scholarships. Teachers you may
remember and wish to honor through their memorial
scholarships include: Donald C. Scheibeler, Jim
Amundsen, Merrill Tronson, and Richard Schoeppner. In
addition, there is a scholarship for A.L. seniors who are
members of the National Honor Society that is
sponsored by the Hall of Fame members.
Want to initiate a scholarship in memory of a
special person?
Contact Brenda or Butch and we will be happy to assist
you in your worthy and generous endeavor!
