STARS Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the STARS Scholarship,

you must...

  • be a parent of a child under the age of 18 or who can be claimed as a dependent on your income taxes.  If single, you must be the custodial parent.
  • be a U.S. citizen.
  • be a resident of Pottawattamie County.
  • have a diploma or GED.
  • be out of high school at least two years.
  • be a full time student.
  • be Pell Grant eligible and/or receive

        public assistance.

Eligibility for a Bachelor's includes all of the above plus:

  • you must have earned an Associate's Degree
  • or you must be a third year student
  • minimum GPA of 2.75
